Dr Brenda Yong
"Life is not about getting more. It is about giving more."
At a young age, Brenda faced one of life's hardest realities when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Despite having a promising career, what she earned was never enough to cover the mounting medical bills. As her mother's illness relapsed again and again, the family's savings were wiped out, and at one point, they had to sell their property and pawn their gold just to get by.
That experience left a lasting mark on Brenda, and it shaped the financial principles she lives by today. She realised that with sound financial planning, her family could have been better prepared for the unexpected, and she learned the importance of managing wealth wisely the hard way, through years of hardship. Today, through her financial planning practice, her training courses, and her book, Brenda is committed to helping others avoid the pitfalls she once faced, so they can build a fuller, more secure life.

Wrote What Successful Women Do With Their Money and other books to empower Malaysian women to take charge of their lives and finances, drawing on insights from her practice at KP Financial Group.
Beyond finance, Brenda believes in living life fully. She is a trained Image Consultant, a Certified Career Consultant with Career Direct®, and a Licensed Personality ID Consultant for businesses and corporates.
Brenda's entrepreneurial journey began long before she had a team, a group of companies, or a stage to speak from. In 2008, she started her career in financial advisory with nothing but a conviction that Malaysians deserved better, more honest guidance around money. That conviction became KP Financial Group (KPFG), the practice that would grow into the foundation of her life's work.
What started as a single practice has since grown into something much bigger. Over the years, Brenda built not just a business, but a community, bringing together like minded advisers, trainers, and educators who share her belief that financial wellbeing and life purpose are deeply connected. In 2026, that vision expanded further with the founding of KP Global Holdings (KPGH), bringing her various ventures under one roof.
Along the way, Brenda has become a familiar voice on national platforms, featured in radio interviews on BFM's Ringgit and Sense show, and invited to speak at Wealth Management Forums across Malaysia and Asia Pacific. For her, entrepreneurship was never just about building a business, it was about building a platform to reach and help more people.
Today, Brenda's work lives across two homes. In 2026, she founded KP Global Holdings (KPGH) to bring the many divisions of her work outside financial planning under one roof, from education and community building to the causes closest to her heart. She serves as Group Managing Director, and KPGH is a partner supporting FEN, an inter-agency platform co-chaired by Bank Negara Malaysia, and an approved training provider under HRD Corp.
Her financial planning practice, KP Financial Group (KPFG), remains close to where it all began, now grown into a sizeable team of licensed advisers who share her belief that money, done right, should feel personal, not transactional.
And then there is Wealth of Life, perhaps closest to her heart of all. What began as one community has grown into many, Wealth of Life Women, Wealth of Life Children, Wealth of Life Professionals, Wealth of Life Seniors, each shaped by different leaders, for different communities, all carrying the same belief that a life well lived starts with a healthy relationship with money.
Brenda has built a reputation for making financial planning feel approachable rather than intimidating. Through her books, she breaks down the language of money management into something anyone, regardless of background, can follow and apply.
Her writing is driven by a simple conviction: financial literacy should not be reserved for a privileged few. Brenda has authored several books on money management, each aimed at helping readers, especially women who so often carry the weight of managing a household's finances and future, take control of their financial lives with clarity and confidence.
Rather than technical manuals, her books read like conversations: practical, relatable, and easy to pick up regardless of where someone is starting from. The goal is always the same, to turn small, everyday financial decisions into lasting, meaningful change.
In 2012, Brenda began developing the syllabus for what would become Wealth of Life, a community she launched in early 2013. She built it out of frustration with many existing financial training programmes, which often prioritised quick gains and "get rich quick" promises over sound, long-term financial habits. At the time, she could not find a robust financial education community developed specifically for Malaysian and wider Asian society, so she created her own.
Wealth of Life has since grown into distinct branches for different age groups and demographics, from children and youth to young working professionals, families, parents and seniors, each developing their own training courses and syllabus tailored to their community's needs. Brenda leads as Global Master Trainer, supported by a growing team of 5 Master Trainers and 36 Associate Trainers worldwide.
To date, Wealth of Life's training programmes and related workshops have reached more than 5,600 participants, ranging from as young as 8 to as senior as 80 years old. Brenda is also a certified trainer for Crown Financial, a leading international organisation providing principle-based education and training for personal finances.
Brenda is a familiar voice across Malaysia's media landscape, sharing her financial expertise on television, radio, and stage alike. She has been a guest on BFM's Ringgit and Sense, spoken at national platforms such as the Wealth Management Forums in Malaysia and Asia Pacific, and delivered a TEDxBangsar talk titled "Don't Manage Your Life Like a Bank Account, Manage It Like a Dynasty." She has also featured on panels for Bursa Academy's "She Invests" series.
On her YouTube channel, BrenOnAir, Brenda shares bite sized insights on money, mindset, and life, bringing financial education directly to viewers in a relatable, conversational format. She has also appeared as a guest on several podcasts.
Her work and story have been featured in leading publications including The Edge, The Star, New Straits Times, The Malay Mail, Her World, and Money Compass, as well as Chinese language coverage in Nanyang Siang Pau, reflecting her reach across both English and Chinese speaking audiences in Malaysia.
